The Artist
Tomer Hogen was born in 1974 in Hod Hasharon. He is an architect and multidisciplinary artist, a man of nature and challenge who is addicted to the desert. His studio features various sculptural pieces combining raw wood, driftwood, local stone and metals. His strong connection to nature is visible in the animal figures that he often sculpts and draws. His work emphasizes the preservation of the natural formation of the raw materials.
Tomer comments that “Nature is the greatest artist of all; my art involves choosing how to present it.” The entire creative process takes place between the walls of a small building in the artists’ colony. There, in his workroom, stands a wooden lathe and many other tools, electric and manual, that were individually collected throughout the years to facilitate creative expression.
